INVERARAY WORLD CHAMPIONS - 10 years in a row the Grade 1 World Champions have chosen Chesney Reeds!

The top 3 bands at the 2019 Grade 1 World Championship and 4 of the top 6 prize winners played Chesney Pipe Reeds with St Laurence O'Toole also playing the new Chesney MK3 Chanter.


Grade 1 (All Playing Chesney Reeds)


1st Inveraray and District

2nd Field Marshal Montgomery

3rd St Laurence O'Toole (& MK3 Chanters)

6th Boghall & Bathgate


Other Grade 1 bands playing Chesney Pipe Reeds at the 2019 World Championships include Shotts and Dykehead, Lomond and Clyde, Johnstone, Glasgow Police and the PSNI.

Closkelt took 2nd place in Grade 2 at the World Championships and claimed the 2019 Champion of Champions prize playing new Chesney MK3 Chanters & reeds.


The Pipe Band Club from Australia took 3rd, Celtic Pipe Band from New Zealand took 4th and the Peel Police from Canada claimed 5th with all playing Chesney Copper Pipe Reeds.


Grade 3A was won by St Josephs Clondalkin playing the New Chesney MK3 Chanter and reeds.


The Juvenile Grade was won by Dollar Academy, with both Dollar bands also winning Champions of Champions prizes in their respective Juvenile and Juvenile A Grades playing Chesney Copper Pipe Reeds.
